With inclusion of two villages (Bethlenfalva and Kadicsfalva), Székelyudvarhely becomes a town with county rights.

In the presence of Viktor Orbán the formal opening of the Memorial Park takes place, which commemorates 12 historical personalities. The sculpture park also includes an allegorical figure (the Szekler Wanderer) bust.
