If we, as curious tourists, were to walk through the center of Udvarhely now, how many could answer the question of where the Budapest Hotel was? Because is here in front of us, we go by it almost every day:
Kossuth street 20 has been for a long time the center of the city’s civil- and cultural life, and even the city-hall functioned here for a while.
The still impressing, but in- and outside less magnificent building is just one of the many points that define the history of our city, yet we know little about it.The Tourinfo office is trying to change this in the form of a new exhibition and an informative walk, preceded by research work. History comes to life mainly from old postcards, photos and newspaper articles, which were put together by tour guide Ildikó Péter into an exciting story, while showing us one of the city’s lost treasures.
