The mineral springs of the Szejke Spa are still used for internal therapies as well as external cold or warm bath-the-rapy. The peat bog, discovered in 1901, is like a one meter thick rubber ground covering and is the focus of a natural protected area with specific marshland flora and fauna. Just up a hill from the baths are a series of traditional Szekler wooden gates and the tomb of Balázs Orbán.
The mineral water springs were known already in 1766. It was said, that the medical properties of the springs were discovered by a gout stricken shepherd, whose feet got miraculously better after he soaked them in the water.
